And we’re off!

It has been an incredibly busy start to the new school year for Year 5! We have kicked off the year with some brilliant research about WW2 and the Blitz as well as starting our English work based on the story ‘The Lion and the Unicorn’.  This half term the children will be finding out about life during WW2 and looking at evacuation in detail before writing their own stories about being evacuated from London to Norfolk. This term, everything is focused on WW2. For a closer look at the objectives that we will be covering as well as a snapshot of some of the lessons and activities then please click on the curriculum links at the bottom of the page.

Homework will be set every Friday and should be handed in on the following Wednesday.  If homework is not completed, then the children will be asked to complete it during break time on the day of hand in. Homework consists of:

  1. Ideally children should read or be read to 5 times a week.  However, we expect this to be achieved at least 3 times a week with comments recorded in the children’s reading records.
  • Children must learn the spellings set by their class teacher ready to be tested the following week
  • Children must complete a short Maths activity (30 minutes)

All of the homework set can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page
