I am delighted to be able to provide you with a copy of our most recent section 8 Ofsted inspection report. As we were already graded Good by Ofsted in June 2015 we had a Section 8 Inspection which was a one-day inspection led by an HMI inspector.
Our school was found to remain good, with marked improvements. This means the lead inspector considered that the school remains good and there is sufficient evidence of strong practice and marked improvement in its performance in specific areas to believe that the school may be judged outstanding under a section 5 inspection if carried out now. This means our school will be inspected again within the next two years, allowing us time to consolidate our best practise.
During the inspection the HMI found two areas that she highlighted for development. The first point was to develop pupils independent reading skills- the teaching of reading in school was seen to be strong and effective however our pupils are not using reading record books effectively to support their language and reading development when working independently. The second development point was writing; handwriting was a major discussion point. Clear plans have been put in place already to address these aspects as part of our wider school development plan.
Naturally we are delighted with the outcome and I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff, pupils and parents for their support and hard work making our school as good as it is!
